Signs You May Benefit From Being Gluten-Free

Posted on September 26, 2012 at 6:05pm 0 Comments

I just saw a commercial that says Dr. Oz is going to be discussing that some people may benefit from being gluten-free. I believe he will be discussing how some diseases are really symptoms of Celiac disease. I am planning on watching it and will try to update this blog as soon as I do. Please watch it if you can.

Toasted Sesame

As I said in the previous blog, I went to Costco the other day and found some new chips. Another one I tried was Toasted Sesame from Food Should Taste Good. These are more like crackers…

Cucumber Dill Baked Lentil Chips

I went to Costco the other day and bought some new (or new to me) chips. One of the brands was Mediterranean Snacks. Costco had their Cucumber Dill Baked Lentil Chips.  I wasn’t sure if they would be good or not but decided to take the risk. The taste is reminiscent…

Summer Is Coming!

Posted on June 3, 2012 at 1:47am 0 Comments

With summer coming I decided I wanted to learn how to make ice cream. I am tired of trying to decipher the ingredient list on the packages in the store. The ingredients are getting worse and worse each year. What happened to milk, heavy whipping cream and half and half? Plain and simple sugar? Eggs? Vanilla extract? All recognizable - I dare you to find them on the packages in the store. They now have things in them I often cannot pronounce and am not entirely sure what some of them are. I…

Thank you :)  the woman i'm working for is currently very, very successful at this food delivery venture & her catering & the market here for gluten free (savory food) is nill & much in desire, i really think if i can get it off the ground it will be a success.

Hi, so my basic concept is exactly what this woman is doing: www.doorknockdinner.com - i'm actually working for her right now, but she's not doing gluten free, so mine will strictly be gf & also some paleo concepts/cooking items as well.  so for busy families who have gluten intolerance (like me), or celiac - i would love to deliver once a week home cooked, from scratch meals, local & organic ingredients (when possible).  i live in the s.shore of massachusetts, in a town called Plymouth.

Joyce I would love to have an actual sandwich with sliced bread. Is there any such thing without having to make and bake your own. I tried Bob's Mill bread mix and wasn't impressed. I have tried a few prepackaged breads but they were so dense and nasty I would rather do without(lol). Someone suggested Udi's has a good white bread, but I am hesitant. I have spent money on breads just to eat one slice and throw the rest away it has been so bad. I haven't had a slice of bread to actually taste good since Janurary. Thank u so much!

Thanks so much for the encouragement Joyce.I am not really computer literate when it comes to a web page so I will have too have some help from family(lol).I look forward to visiting the web pages of other gluten intolerant/celiac individuals. The only cooking I am doing now is prepackaged gluten free for the time being so all the recipes I can actually use will be helpful.

Thank you.  Being retired, I now have time to experiment with this new food lifestyle.  It should be an interesting ride, as gluten free is a totally new road for me to travel.  Having worked previously invarious types of establishments requiring F&B background, I most definitely now must think outside the box! That's a good thing!
