Gluten-Free Does Not Mean Flavor Free
It is with heavy heart that I report to you that Sam's is discontinuing their gluten-free products like Krusteaz Gluten-Free All Purpose flour and Treasures from the Sea by Odyssey Wild Alaska Battered Fish Fillets. My son, who no longer lives with me, and I used to joke that Sam's followed us around to see what we buy to stop carrying it. It seems that every time we find something we really like, they discontinue carrying it. What's up with that?
We bought some extra Krusteaz GF AP flour, so we're ok for awhile on that. We started seeing it on sale at various stores and began to worry. So I wrote them and asked them what was going on. This is the response I received:
So, no more Krusteaz GF AP flour at Sam's.
Then I wrote Treasures from the Sea by Odyssey about the Wild Alaskan Battered Fish Fillets (Pollock) and the company representative told me it was a seasonal item and no longer available. I sent back the question: Is it seasonal as in coming back next year or not coming back at all. The representative said she didn't know because it was up to Sam's.
I hear through the grapevine that Sam's is planning on not carrying any specialty gluten-free items any more. I hope they change their minds. It's hard to find products I like that do not make me sick. I wonder if Costco will pick these items up?
