Grandma's Gluten-Free Baking N Cooking

Gluten-Free Does Not Mean Flavor Free

We went to Costco the other day because we heard they had gluten-free pizza. We checked and the only kind we found was Sabatasso's Four Cheese Gluten-Free Pizzas. The package has 2 pizzas (17.5 ounces each) in it for $11.89. They are a pretty good size (largest gluten-free pizza we've tried yet) and have real cheese - mozzarella, fontina, parmesan, and asiago. According to the package each pizza is four servings. I cut them into eight pieces (after I baked them).

I baked one in my convection oven directly on the rack at 425* for about 15 minutes. It came out dripping with real cheese. The crust was crispy and delicious. We will definitely buy them again. I just wish it had some veggies on it. Next time, I will add some veggies before baking.

***They have since changed the packaging - there are now three 17.5 oz pizzas in a package and the price changed too. It is now 15.99, which makes it even cheaper than it was. Averaging $5.33 per pizza now.

I should have mentioned that other gluten-free pizzas that we've bought in the past are around 10 ounces each. Compare that to the 17.5 ounces each of these and you understand just how much bigger they are. So, for less than $6 per pizza, you are getting a much better deal than most gluten-free pizzas with the added bonus of it tasting better too.

One caveat - make sure the one you pick up says GLUTEN FREE on it because this company also makes gluten pizza (and Costco sells them right next to each other).

We have since tried adding veggies to the top and then adding a little bit of cheese on top of the added veggies. We also tried another one with chili on top. Both pizzas were great. The one with chili on top made the cheese even better.
